St. Petersburg, FL Optometrist
He received a second Bachelor’s Degree in Physiological Optics and then his Doctorate in Optometry at Southern College, also completing an externship in Ocular Disease at VEF Eye Center at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
Dr. Smith returned to his hometown to enter private practice and became the Center Director for an ocular disease & surgery referral center owned by Omega Health Systems. Currently, Dr. Smith lives in St. Petersburg, where he joined the ophthalmology practice within Suncoast Medical Clinic and has practiced there for over twenty-five years.
He is a member of the American Optometric Society, the American Optometric Association and the Florida Optometric Association. He is also a member of the International Sports Vision Association.
He maintains a collection site for the Lions Club to collect donated glasses and has personally contributed over 3,000 new eyeglass frames to the lions club organization to make eyeglasses for the underprivileged.
He volunteers his time for the “Be My Eyes” online visual service for the blind and urges everyone to become involved. He is an avid fisherman and sportsman and is active in his Church.
Dr. Dane Kuplicki
St. Petersburg, FL Optometrist
Dr. Dane Kuplicki is a native Floridian, born and raised in South Pinellas County. He received a degree in finance and pre-med from the University of South Florida, and earned his doctorate in optometry from Indiana University’s School of Optometry (c/o 2017). He enjoys establishing ongoing relationships with his patients and utilizing the latest technology to provide them with the best care, tailored to their individual visual needs.
Dr. Dane lives with his wife, Nina, son, Cade, and daughter, Dani, in Seminole. In his free time, Dr. Kuplicki enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing ice hockey, fishing, working out, and volunteering in the community. He is an avid Tampa Bay sports fan and loves following our local teams.
Anita Smith
Optical Manager
After a career alongside Dr. Smith three decades ago, Anita took a pause to raise her family. After retiring from childcare, she is thrilled to return to the office bringing a renewed passion for eye care. You'll most likely find Anita by the beach, in Gulfport, more nights than not with her husband.
Susan Campbell
Licensed Optician
Susan is a Board Certified Licensed Optician. She has been in the optical industry for 20+ years. Susan started out by working in an optical lab, fabricating prescription glasses. She has been fortunate to work at The Optical Shop for Dr. Mark Smith for the past 10 years. Susan enjoys working with patients, helping them find the perfect pair of glasses and educating them on the latest lens technology. When Susan is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband.
Irene Kaney
Optical Associate
Irene has been enjoying her career in optical for over 30 years. She loves helping people find the perfect eyewear. Her years of experience have made her proficient in lens and frame selection providing her patients with the best eyewear to fit their needs. A Jersey native, she migrated to beautiful sunny Florida six years ago. An avid connoisseur of culinary delights and sunsets in her free time keeps her smiling.
Jennifer Yoder
Optical Associate
Jennifer has been in the optical field for over 20 years. The diversity of optics has kept her interest, as well as the simple joy of helping patients with their eyewear needs. Jennifer spent the first half of her optical career in Chicago, eventually migrating to Florida for the warmer beach life. She is active in the local arts community, as well as a fitness and nature enthusiast.
